After the team Formula Electric Racing-NUST’s recent successful run in Formula Student UK 2021, the team decided to extend its legacy and leave a mark at the Formula Student Russia 21 (FSR).

FSR is an international Formula Student Engineering Competition where different teams from around the world participate to showcase their Formula Student Vehicle Prototype.

The team managed to overcome immense odds stacked against it and has secured first ever Podium for Pakistan in any Formula Student Competition. The team was also second in all individual events of the competition which includes Engineering Design event, Business Plan Presentation and Cost & Manufacturing Event.

The Business Plan event consisted of a Business Plan Presentation Video (BPPV) which was followed by a Business Plan Presentation. BPPV is a 30s pitch video while BPP is a ten-minute presentation based on a Deep Dive Topic provided by the judges of the event. The Deep dive topic for this year was to make a business model for large scale production of EV prototype that would cater the plan of zero carbon footprint facility in the model in the span of ten years.

The Engineering Design Event consisted of multiple presentations and sessions with judges where the vehicle’s design and dynamics were accessed. A full vehicle appearance video was also submitted to the judges whereas the Cost & Manufacturing Event at Formula Student competition aims to judge the Team’s understanding of its vehicle’s cost. Teams are judged based on buying decisions and long-term investments, as well as manufacturing, quality and environmental sustainability of their decisions.

Now, the team has started preparation for the next season of Formula Student Competitions.
