FORMULA STUDENT UK

Formula Student UK, a worldwide competition held on 17th to 20th July 2024. By the grace of Almighty Allah, the team NFST of PNEC has successfully bagged a total of three awards:

1st Position in Design amongst Asian Teams.
2nd Position in Light Vehicle Hybrid Category
Won the distinguished Learn & Compete Award.

These awards showed the enthusiasm and commitment of team members towards innovation and technology.

NUST-PNEC MUNINP-IV

MUNINP-IV (Model United Nations) was held from 10 to 12 Nov 23 at NUST-PNEC. Total number of 338 students from different Universities and Colleges participated in the event as delegates. To conduct the MUNINP-IV, total 08 x Committees were formulated which were representing different segments of United Nations and replica of PNA & Supreme Court. Opening Ceremony of the event was held at NUST-PNEC auditorium. Chief guest declared the session opened and the chairs of the committees were introduced to the delegates. Different sessions of the Committees were held in the classrooms of ‘F’ & ‘NA’ Blocks. As Chair & Assistant Chair Director (ACD) for each Committee, renowned Personalities from corporate sector with rich experience of conducting ‘Model United Nation’(MUN) across the Pakistan were engaged.

In the evening of 10 & 11 Nov 23, Bonfire and Qawali Night were conducted at Bahria Auditorium parking respectively. Both the events were fully enjoyed by the students/ participants, especially the Qawali Night. The Closing Ceremony & formal dinner was held on 12 Nov 23 at Bahria Auditorium Parking. Commandant NUST-PNEC, Engr Tauqeer Ahmad Khawaja was the chief guest. The chief guest gave away the Shields/ Certificates to Outstanding Performers & Best delegates from each committee.

OPEN HOUSE NUST-PNEC

PNEC successfully conducted Open-House and on-spot interviews on May 17, 2023. There were 32 projects on display, covering disciplines of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Around 78 x Senior officials of HR/ technical representatives from 44 x renowned local industries visited PNEC to witness the projects.

Moreover, NUST Formula Student Team (NFST) and Team Shell-Eco Marathon displayed their vehicles at the venue. General overview of Naval Architecture Department and courses being offered at Professional Development Centre (PDC) was also part of the event.

In addition, 06 x companies conducted on-spot interviews at the Open-House, providing students with an opportunity to apply for jobs directly with industry. Technical acumen and professional conduct of the students was appreciated by the interviewers.

 

Pakistan Cybersecurity Challenge (PCC) by NCCS

National Centre for Cyber Security (NCCS) at Air University has organized a mega event of Pakistan Cybersecurity Challenge (PCC), a Hackathon and Capture-the-Flag (CTF) event, crypto challenge, and a startup challenge (ideas cup). This event is open for students from Universities and all other educational institutions across Pakistan.

The PCC event gave participants a unique opportunity to team up and compete in various cybersecurity challenges and show their mettle.

Two students (Saba Shehzad and Sidra Rehman Fall 2021) of PNEC-NUST Cyber Security Dept have participated in that mega event . They qualified for Round 1 which is based on online competition as an individual and then qualified to participate as a team in Round 2. Round 2 commenced on 27 July 2022 at Air University, Islamabad.

They received the prize of Rs 2 Lacs and brought laurels to the college. AlhamduLillah

Formula Student Team NAS’ 22

Formula Student Team is a group of undergraduate students from Pakistan Navy Engineering College, NUST, Karachi that conceived designed and fabricated a Formula race car and were pioneers of Formula Student culture in Pakistan.
While celebrating their 10 years of innovation and passion in engineering they unveiled their current model NAS’ 22 on Friday June 17, 2022, in Rangoonwala community centre, Dhoraji Karachi.
The event was graced by Commandant PNEC Commodore Kamran Ahmed SI(M), Dean Engineering Sciences Captain Zulfiqar Ahmed TI(M) who appreciated the team’s zeal and determination despite limited resources.
Representatives of Team sponsors; Pakistan State Oil, Descon Midas Safety, National Science & Technology Park, Meinhardt Group and industrial giants also attended the event and commended team efforts and wished them best of luck for representing #Pakistan and NUST at the biggest stage of engineering; Formula Student UK scheduled in July 2022.

TechnoSquid 2022

TechnoSquid 2022 held on 12 March 2022 at NUST PNEC.

The competitors achieved certificates in the domains of Line Following Robot, Circuit Designing, Codefest & Idea Pitching.

INTRA – PNEC Quiz Competition | Spring 2021

Intra – PNEC Quiz Competition for PNEC students was held on 26 March 2021 in JAUHAR Auditorium by NUST-PNEC Literary Society under Department of Applied Sciences. Cdre Kamran Ahmed SI (M) Commandant PNEC graced the event as Chief Guest.  01 x team from each department, i.e., Engineering Sciences (ES), Electronics and Power Engineering (EPE), Management and Information Sciences (MIS), Maritime Sciences (MS) and Naval Architecture (NA)- participated in the subject event. Whereas Electronics and Power Engineering (EPE) Department team was declared winner and Management and Information Sciences (MIS) Department team was runner up. The event was organized to instill academic awareness amongst the students.

Robotics & Drone Competition 2019

“Major Adeel Shahid Shaheed Memorial Symposium: Robotics & Drone Competition” was held at Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology on 18 December, 2019. Students from NUST – PNEC, Ms. Aiman Malik, Ms. Amna Waris and Mr. Muhammad Usman from Electronics and Power Engineering

Department won the first prize in the competition for their project titled “Visible Light Communication” supervised by Captain Dr. Sajjad Haider Zaidi. The team was appreciated by the judges who complimented their unique approach.

A cash prize of Rs.10,000 was awarded to the team along with shield and certificate. A total of nine teams participated in the competition from NED University, Iqra University, Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Ziauddin University etc.

Robotic and Dron Competition
