IBM Global University Program (GUP)
-Dear NUST Family,
We are delighted to share a very important milestone; a collaboration between NUST with IBM Global University Programs (GUP).
The partnership will enable NUST and IBM GUP to work together in the areas of skill enhancement, curriculum development, and research. The collaborative interests will be focused in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Internet of Things, Blockchain, Quantum & Design Thinking.
IBM Global University Offerings
Under the IBM Global University Program collaboration, NUST can leverage:
1) IBM Academic Initiative: Faculty and Students can access software, courseware and select resources through a no-charge self-service program that will enable the students to help distinguish in their career;
2) IBM Blockchain: Access for Faculty and Students to the open source Hyperledger Project governed by the Linux Foundation;
3) IBM Skills Academy Program: A skills-oriented training program with industry- recognized digital badges to empower students of various backgrounds with the skills needed to excel in today’s high-demand technologies;
4) IBM University Awards: Supporting basic research, curriculum innovation, and educational assistance in focus areas that are fundamental to innovation in the 21st Century and strategic to NUST & IBM; and
5) IBM University Guest Lectures: Mobilizing IBM technical subject matter experts to speak on topics in their expertise to students.

As you are aware that NUST has entered into a partnership with IBM Global University Program. This partnership covers multiple areas including skill enhancement, curriculum development, and research. The collaborative interests will be focused in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Internet of Things, Blockchain, Quantum & Design Thinking. Multiple nodes of this partnership include IBM Academic Initiative, IBM Skills Academy, University Guest Lectures, IBM Research Frontiers Institute and IBM Global University Program Awards.
An introductory session of Regional Lead IBM Global University Program Mr Denny Punnoose with NUST faculty is scheduled on Wednesday, 4th August 2021 at 2:30 PM Pakistan Time. The 45-minute-long session will cover introduction of the IBM Global University Program, details on how NUST faculty can use its resources free of cost, apply for research grants etc. Questions from the faculty will be addressed in this session as well.
